What is Spotlight?
Lingospot Spotlight automatically recommends the best content available from sites selected by an editor. Spotlight can recommend content about a particular topic or about the entire page:
- Page Spotlight can be implemented as a widget on either the bottom of a page or on the sidebar. Related content information can also be passed via an API for rendering by the publisher. The widget is also fully customizable, from the sources of content to the targeting mechanism and the rendering of the results.
- Topic Spotlight is implemented in the form of a dynamic, multi-tab, bubble that is displayed when a reader hovers over a topic of interest. This bubble contains results from multiple searches across a variety of content sources, including articles, affiliate sites, photos, videos, etc. The entire experience is completely customizable by an editor.
Spotlight is much more than a simple recommendation engine. With a wide range of features to please even the most demanding editorial teams, it offers a variety of targeting (including contextual, personalized and editorial) as well as fine-grained control over the content recommendations. Other features include photo-matching, the ability to customize search parameters and many more.
Editors can use Spotlight to automate their content recommendations while maintaining the ability to fine-tune the selection process, delete an automatic recommendation or add their own selections at any time.
