Who Uses Spotlight?
Spotlight is used by some of the world's largest and most prestigious online publishers and content aggregators, as well as aggressive and rising smaller niche publishers. Here are some examples of how Spotlight is being used:
- The Sacramento Bee uses multiple implementations of Page Spotlight to showcase related articles and content from its own archives, from Sacramento Connect, a network of local Sacramento news properties that they manage, and from other McClatchy news properties around the web.
- Forbes.com also uses both the Topic Spotlight and Page Spotlight. The Topic Spotlight shows articles, videos and blog posts about a specific topic. The Page Spotlight shows contextually related articles from a group of affiliate publishers that Forbes manages through the Lingospot Mixer.
- Sky Sports uses both the Topic Spotlight and Page Spotlight. The Topic Spotlight shows a dynamic topic-targeted bubble of Sky Sports content, as well as any related sports bets about the team or player highlighted. The Page Spotlight is presented as a widget at the bottom of each article page, which showcases the articles from Sky Sports that are contextually related to the article that the visitor is currently on.
